This past summer I bought a Sig in .45 ACP. This is the first Sig I have owned and the first time I have loaded any type of auto pistol cartridge, although I've loaded tons of .45 Colt. The boolit is a mold I got from Accurate a couple of months ago. Today is the first time I cast with the mold. Alloy is air cooled hardball and they are loaded over 4.3 gr. Bullseye. They weigh ~203 gr.

Nice looking rounds! I like the bullet AND your choice of powder!

I use the same load as well.

Sounds expensive but since it's a 45acp it's likely worth it. :bigsmyl2: Rounds look great but may be a little long, did you perform the "plunk" test?

Well, I've owned several different .45 ACP's just never reloaded for it...I was always walking out the door with the Smith or Ruger .45 Colt instead. I did like the S&W 645. It was very accurate, but I hated chasing the brass. The only 1911 I ever liked was one I had in the Marine Corps...

These are actually about 0.012" shorter than factory loads so I'm somewhat concerned they might have to jump too much.

Plunk test ???? No idea. I've not heard of that one. Are you referring to a function check?

Take the barrel out and hold it chamber end up. Drop the loaded round in. If it hangs up, the boolit may be too large diameter wise, the exposed lead may not fit the chamber dimensions and have to be seated deeper, the flare may not have been reduced enough. If you do a search here, there are some good cross section pictures that demonstrates this.

They chamber just fine.

What do you shoot it in and how does it shoot?

Those rounds look like they will run fine in your P-220. I'm carrying my 3rd example of this make/model currently, and all 3 have run cast bullets VERY well--RN, SWC, or TC forms. 4.3 grains of Bullseye under a 200 grain bullet will be a great mid-range load.

Mine's a P227. Here's a group at 7 yds.

The two in the upper left corner are not part of this group. Shooting a little low but otherwise not bad. I'll increase the charge a little.
