Ok heres where im at. Right now im loading 3.9 gr. Of bulleseye under a 124 gr. Lee tl 2r bullet. Im using remington small pistol 1 1/2 primes for my 9mm. This is the most acurate load i could come up with for this combination. Its ok for plinking in my c9 but i would like to tighten my groups and everything I can find sugests a slower powder especilaly since my gun favors a heavyer boolit. Any sugestions?

I have used blue dot for over 20 years now with the 9mm, and have had very good luck with it. From 90 grain bullets and boolits up to 147 grainers.

W231/HP-38. I prefer Universal w/ 147 grain bullets.

+1 for Blue Dot in 9MM. Blue Dot 5.8~6.0 gr under 120~125 gr boolits delivers fine accuracy.

I'll Sue-Jest WSF for 9mm and a Merriam Webster Dictionary for you. :p

Just kidding on the dictionary but WSF is an outstanding powder for 115-125gr. 9mm loads. I run around 5.4 grains and use any standard small pistol primer.

Agree that WSF is also outstanding. I use WSF 4.2 gr under 358242 and 356402 and they chrony @ 1050 fps.

Power Pistol for the win. You'll use a heavier charge, but if tighter groups matter, this is the powder you have been seeking. Somewhere between 5 and 5.5 grains under your 124 grain boolits should have you smiling.

For 30 years I have used 5.9 gr BD with 124 grain jacket bullets in my 9mm pistols.

I love this thread!

It teaches a very important lesson!

There is no such thing as "The best powder."

My answer however would be Bulls Eye.

Thanks everyone. Now that i have my shoping list ill have to see what i can get ahold of. The best i could do was 2 to 3 in groups at 10 yards of a rest. Same pistol made a nice clover leaf at 10 yards off rest with some 124 gr. Fmj stuff i had picked up for a ccw class. I know the gun will do it if i do my part. Had concidered red dot as that should work fine in my 45acp as well but ill look into the green and blue dots. Of the 2 which powder is the slower one or would 1 of them be unsafe in a 9mm?

I should have noted that 5.4 grains of WSF was with jacketed bullets, I drop that load a little with cast bullets.
In either event WSF works very well in 9mm.

aa2 is my favorite powder for the 9mm/40/45 hands down. Its accurate in all of them and unless your looking for that last 50fps it will work everywhere from mouse fart loads to full power defense loads.

I'm still on the learning curve on GLOCK triggers...and not overly impressed with their fixed OR adjustable sights. An eight pound can of PROMO cost me$112 plus tax a couple months ago. 4.0 PROMO under a LEE 120-TC lubed with BEN'S LIQUID LUBE, sized to 357 and lubed again, CCI small pistol primers in range brass and loaded on a DILLON 550B.

231 or unique. But of coarse every gun is different so you still have to experiment.
