Well, I´ve run out of my favorite accuracy load for my Ruger GP100, and are no longer able to get hold of that 148gr Hirtenberger swaged HBWC that I used.

I loaded up some Lee 148gr WC (drops at 151 gr with my alloy), lubed them with Randys TAC1 in all 3 grooves and sized to .358.
3 grains of Vitha 320, Federal Goldmatch mag primers, Norma 357mag brass and seated to the canelure with a rollcrimp.. then of to the range!!

Rested at 25 meters they printed prettymuch into one hole.. me happy! Just as good as my old load.

This is my first non rested string during practice later that day!
25 meter, single handed, unsupported slowfire

Me happy, I shot my personal best this day
This load is a keeper!

Well done!
The only boolit that shoots better in my 38 special than the Lee is the NOE hollow base wadcutter. I have it in a 4 cavity and mine works well both casting and shooting.
Although, given your results, I don't know why you would want to change anything.

good shooting, especially 1 handed :) You may want to someday do a test with only the bottom groove lubed. I put off this test for years, but when I did found out just what others had told me, they shoot better with less lube. If shooting hotter loads, you might want more lube. It probably won't be a huge difference, but one you can see.

Dubber: yeah.. I´ve tried that in another load, didn´t see much difference.. and the die was set up for three groves when I lubed this batch.. next batch I´ll try the one groove thing..

What a great range day, thanks for the story. I haven't made it to the range in over a week, and I just bought a K 38 6".

During tests at 50 yards I found that LEE WC shot as good or better than my Lyman, RCBS, Saeco, and H&G wadcutters. Other styles of boolits are better at 50 yds.+, but the LEE didn't give up anything to the other wadcutter designs in my testing.
