since i like messing about, and dont have a life it appears
we stumbled onto some GreenDot and thought i would do some group tests
with it on .38spl wadcutter loads
so here is a Google Collection GreenDot Tests (https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/M3ROFB)
with posts chronicling the events and a Google Sheet with chrono data for the loads
looks like we have another reserve winner!

Iused to use GD. It is an excellent choice for the .38 Special.

I have used a lot of GD on 38 special and my best loads for flush seated wadcutters was 2.9 grains up to 3.2 grains. l liked red dot a little better, 2.8 to 3.0. love green dot in my 30-30 under a lee 150 flat. I have noticed green dot gets a little spiky on wadcutters at 3.3 and up. Good luck and keep us informed.

Cool, I've still got a couple ponds from my shotgunning days and lots of wadcutters.

I have used Green Dot for some excellent .38 Special +P loads in my Ruger Service Six. This powder really prefers a magnum primer.

I just picked up a pound of GD last week as the LGS didn't have any RD. Haven't had any time to really try it out yet - my main purpose was to try it in my 45 Colt as I like to use RD for my loads - but if no RD, the GD is not that far off as far as the data. I did try some in some of my 38 Colt Shorts under a 121 gr RN. - standard primer and 2.2 gr. of the GD worked very well out of my 3" J frame in the Colt Short casing.

My 3rd edition of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook shows GD data for a variety of calibers. I normally use Bulls Eye in my 38 specials but do use RD on occasion. The GD worked so well in my 38 Colt Short samples that I'll probably pick up more of it when I can for use in my 38s and 45s. Always nice to have another powder to fall back on.
