Wow... now that is interesting... looks like a sight-tube inside the powder measure so you can see that there is powder, and that the measure is full... Since you can't see through that tin-can powder reservoir, you need to see something to make sure your dropping a full charge... Very interesting design....
Looks too small to be the shot drop....

Looks like the user could be very sure of the charge volume the way the sight glass is set up. I wonder if it would work with black powder as the tubing is brass? More info on charge volumes might help understand its use, too.

thanks, i couldnt see it on the so called "smart fone" , sadly it doesnt help me much but may another [shrugz]
it also leaves me to ask if there are any other marks on it etc ?

That is a really impressive piece of kit. I believe it to be a black powder measure. I suspect that there may be hash marks on the brass measuring rod inside the glass tube? It really is a handsome item.
