A few years ago i lucked into 35lbs of 60 40 kester for 1.00 a lb. Owner of the scrapyard was a customer of ours that I had done work for personally on his boat. He recognized it for what it was, told his guys to sort it better next time because it was in the lead bin, and gave it to me for 1.00 a lb anyhow. :D Of course pure is better.

Nice score! As one gets older one realizes luck is often the end results of preparation and perspiration. Learning what to look for is the preparation and getting out there and doing the work of looking for that "luck" is the perspiration. Not to be confused with dumb luck which is a whole different animal.
