My 9 year old son loading a box of shells for his 308 today. First time he has done it all by himself.:-D

Way to go DAD. Well, did he come up with the load too with a watchful eye or did you give a little teaching input? Those sorta look like 150 gr Hornady's. Looks like you got a fishing buddy too.

For some reason OP's son look way more reliable reloader than my 9 year old. When my son is pulling the handle of the 650, all kinds of weird stuff happens. Things that are just impossible to reproduce on purpose.

Thats a lifetime of memories, right there. Way to go Dad! You should have him keep his first one.

We had all ready worked up the load with 125 grn core lokts when he got his rifle in June. He has been shooting 5 rounds of cast bullets about everyday after school, but we're switching back to jacketed bullets to get ready for youth season at the end of the month. Dad hasn't put in the time to work up a hunting load with cast bullets.

Wonderful memories in the making, and a fine looking young boy there.

Just watch his lead exposure.

Put him to good use while you can, as soon as they discover girls and cars , he's going to forget all about dad and reloading. If you have a little girl, they tend to stick with their daddy, my daughter is 39 and still helps me....my boy, now that's another story , the girls got him.
Have fun, he's a good looking helper.

Yes Sir, you are doing the right thing. Train up a child in the way he should go and he/she will always shoot and never vote liberal!!!
