How about hammer for this gun??

The specs for the main stock screw for an 86 are: length 1 25/32, diameter 11/32, thread 12-28.
There were 3 basic types/models of hammers- primarily differing in the type of checkering.
Been so long since I've looked for such parts- not much help about a source.

I needed to check something on Ebay so while there I looked for that hammer and screw, both are available but the one hammer I could find was kind of spendy -$325!! :shock:

Maybe they do go for that but personally I think someone rolled one out of the wrong bag! The search for the hammer also brought up a couple of those screws, one for ten bucks.

I bought a kit for the 1886 long ago from Brownells, though they no longer stock it. It may have been by the same manufacturer. There is a lot of rebadging in the gun accessories business.
