Just got back into casting after 25 years or so and messed up a tc mold I've had for years.
I started getting a little splash or lip at the base of my bullets so I tightened up the sprue plate screw. Worked good until the mold got up to temp or a little hot, I'm not sure. Long story short, I sheared the screw holding the sprue plate on.
I know, dumb move.
So the question is, are there any mold rebuild kits that will work with a tc mold?
the one I broke is a tc, aluminum 50 maxi ball, if that helps.
Thanks

If you can get the broken screw out of the mould 80% of your problem is solved.
Sounds like you only need to do after that would be to get another retaining screw.

I have never seen a repair kit for a TC mold. If the screw doesn't come out easily a trip to the machine shop might be worth it as these have not been made in years and AFAIK no one has picked up the designs.

I "think" Rapine contracted to make their aluminum molds??

I bet Erik could fix it but if it is a 2 cylinder it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

I have 2 of the same mould. it is a single cavity. I would bet you could move the sprue plate pivot to the opposite corner.
