who makes krag carbine stocks. I know that boyd makes them , does anyone else? next question. what can be used for the "clips" on the inside of the upper handguard. I don't think that they come with the wood????

Several companies within the last ten years or so made Krag rifle stocks, surely one of them would make a carbine stock. I would do a google search for "Krag carbine stock" and see what comes up.

I think you could make replacement handguard clips from ½" wide blued steel banding, if you can find any of it. Failing that I would buy a piece of the thinnest spring steel stock you can find to form as the clips. Proper rivets? No idea.

You could also probably buy a rifle handguard in abysmal shape to rob the clips from; if you got real lucky, you might even save the rivets.

You might check with S&S Firearms, NY, for the clips and rivets. As you may have discovered, the Boyd's carbine stocks are not exact replicas.
