Will an Ideal 266469 drop a larger as-cast diameter than modern Lyman 266469?

thanks

My Lyman 266469 casts just a tudge under .266 using COWW's and 2% Sn. I don't have an Ideal one.

My Ideal 266469 casts 268+ on bottom drive band and .265 on top band, 50-50 coww-pb + 1% sn

It's very probable it will Dutch. My experience with older Lyman and especially Ideal moulds is many of the cherries were cut for Lyman #1 alloy which had Cu in it. That gave a much larger shrinkage factor to the bullets. The Ideal 266469 I had years ago cast at .269+ with #2 alloy. I thought it was too big at the time and sold it........my bad........

Well, paid evey penny what a new Lyman would cost but judging by the pictures the cavities look hardly used if at all. Was pretty sure I'd heard the Ideal were larger. Let's hope so. Hope this link works..

I saw that one too, Dutch. Thought it would cast bigger too but, just wasn't sure. Glad to see you got it!
