44 Mag twist rate

Which is a better twist rate in a 44 Mag rifle, 1 in 38 or 1 in 20? Will shoot cast boolits from 200g to 310g and in between. Speed , cowboy to hunting. Distance, 10 to 100 yards. This is the deciding factor between Marlin and Puma purchase, that I am thinking about, please help EH!
