I am just getting started reloading boolits in a Dillon SDB in 9mm. I have several hundred Lee 356-120TC using old wheel weights. I am having trouble with lead getting shaved off of the side of the boolit after being seated. I spoke to Dillon support and they said to make sure I was using the seating die designed for a semi-wad cutter boolit. My barrel miked out at .355 and they were sized to .356 in a Lyman 450. After I made the change it did not have any effect whatsoever. Thanks in advance for any possible suggestions.

Not having enough bell on the brass will cause that. Make sure you are expanding the mouth a teeny bit to allow the lead boolit to go in properly. My Lee die does that automatically.
That is something you never worry about with FMJ's.

Page 10 of this owner's manual explains why and how to increase case bell/flare:

This should solve your boolit shaving problem.

I should have also mentioned that if it doesn't happen all the time, then it's probably time to trim some cases.

I would flare/bell your cases a bit more.

And don't forget to chamfer the case mouths.
You may want to read this tread on loading for 9mm.
