I used my first noe mold today. Before I cast the best boolits I have ever dropped, I figured it would be no different than my lee aluminum molds. Ha!, this mold is better than any of my Lyman's or rcbs molds by far. It's the 311041 PB. I got on a trade here. Sure to be the first of more, now that I know what I have been missing.
Look at these beauty's.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/20/f502ba92f59fface31bd30597f767a69.jpg
Perfect fillout

Yep.....it's nice to know that a Lee is possible but a custom/semi custom mold lets you know you have arrived.

Happy Casting. :cbpour:

They are nice...I had a new NOE mold that had escaped use since Dec of 2014...until this past Thursday night. It dropped great bullets, from the first fill...and it seemed to almost "spit" the bullets out...best new mold (even NOE) that I have ever used.

Enjoy that new mold and start thinking about what will be next.

You a ruined now.
I made the same mistake.
Now I regularly make Al's rent payment!!!
Since I drank the NOE kool aid I can not look back and have atleast 15 of his molds now!
If you ever have a glitch Al will take care of you no questions asked he is a first rate Man/Operation!!!

My 2 cents

I think I have 6 of his molds.
I even sent molds back to him and he replaced all the pins and hardware no cost, and even cast with the molds before he sent them back to me.

They are lyman#2. I wanted them harder than coww alloy as I will be pushing these fairly fast from my 30/30. They drop at 176 grains+-. First time using sprue lube also. Q-tip and 2 stroke oil.

I'm visiting with my old buddy Dale53 and spent the afternoon using his NOE 454242 five cavity to stock up bullets for my new Uberti SAA. I'm really leaning toward buying one of these moulds, but will be able to hold off until I use up some of the 300+ I made today. Regardless, it's a great mould and I'm grateful to my friend for the opportunity to use it.

NOE are great molds, I own about a dozen and reached the $1K club.
Accurate molds are great, own two of them or was that three.
I plan on taking inventory when the white stuff hits the state.

Froggie;
That mould is an NOE version of the Lyman 454424 (not 454242) (Elmer Keith design). WE had a GREAT time while you were here! It will probably only take a week or two to recover, too[smilie=1:...

I've only been at this for about a year now. My first mold was a Lyman, and later tried an NOE. Man, What a Difference.

I didn't under stand why anyone would need more than ONE mold for a given gun. LOL!!! In just the first year, I now have 2 Lyman's, and 4 NOE's and this is all for a .257 Air Gun no less! LOL!!!

Al has been wonderful to work with, as has Eric at Hollow Point Mold Service. None Better!

Somehow I made it into the $1k club. I don't think I paid full price for any of them.

I do wish the alignment pins were tapered. I managed to gouge a mold up because I wasn't paying attention to how it was closing. Completely my fault. But it was my first NOE mold and I was used to using MP molds.

Congrats on the New NOE.
Al is finally getting caught up. But that meant I went backward. Ordered 4 a few weeks ago, 3 of which are HP. Almost a $1K member in less than a year. Shot my first 454-230 RN in RG4 using the small pins, today at the range. Made me look good.
