I did some shooting with my Browning 45-70 using my revolver loads at 50 yards. They do not match what the BFR gets but are very good. I had 1-3/8" for 8 shots with 5 in a ragged hole.
My BFR boolits are .459 but the Browning has 8 lands and grooves, needs .460" all the way to .464" from a pound cast. The other problem is the Browning will not shoot good with a forearm rest. needs sticks at the null point of the barrel.
But darn it still shot good. I would hunt with it.
I found no lead in the barrel either.
I would love to see tests with good revolver loads shot in a Marlin too.
