I inherited this mould along with a bunch of other items. It is a Lyman mould 2 cavity. the boolit weighs 251.3, this was in the mould when I got it. I do not know what the alloy is... there is only 1 boolit in the mould. What rifle cal. would I use this in... if I had a rifle for it?

.38-55, .375 Win, .375 H&H, or most any other 3/8 bore rifle. That should be a plain based boolit, so probably not for high velocities.

Absolutely correct.
Since diameters in 375/38-55 throats and grooves can vary quite a bit, matching any particular firearm will benefit from careful measurements of those dimensions before deciding on alloys and finished sizes for the 375248 mould.

sometimes a U denotes undersize mold cavities , other letters ... who knows ( well other than the DV which stands for devastator hollow point )
