I have been thinking about buying a 1938 Mauser from a friend. Every part on the pistol is matching but the grips and I put a 90 percent condition on the gun. My only question is the grips. They appear to be the correct grips as far as color and wear, but they are marked differently than the rest of the gun. The right grip is marked S and O about an inch apart, and the left grip is marked C and O also about an inch apart. I have read that some grips are known to have maker marks and no last two serial number, and I have also heard that they were all marked with the last two. I know this has been a safe queen for 40 years, so I am really hoping for some luger experts to help me out. This is a four digit q code 1938. I only have a tablet so sorry for the pic quality
