Happy belated birthday! Like the others, 39 was about 16 years ago. I also wish I had picked up the madness again back then but life happens.

39 . . . I got underwear older than that . . . When you turn 40, then you'll realise how dumb all the 30 somethings are . . . I was once 39 about 26 years ago. Happy Birthday!

I remember 39. I still couldn't understand why old people looked like they were playing the trombone when they were trying to read smaller print. I've since passed the trombone phase. Now I just hand the small print stuff to my wife or kids and make them read it to me.

I remember wondering why my parents would groan when they sat down or got up. A few months ago my son asked me why I groan whenever I sit down or stand up.

Enjoy 39.

Missed your post yesterday . . . always a day late and a dollar short anyway! So Happy Belated Birthday! I can remember when I turned 39 . . I think?? Been quite a while. LOL

39 is good . . . enjoy it and have fun and live each day to the fullest! Remember that life isn't about the "destination" - it's about the "journey" . . . so enjoy it and those around you! And enjoy your casting, reloading and shooting - great fun and very relaxing!

Hope you had a happy birthday, but we're not all old-timers. I don't even turn 30 until January. Just glad the casting bug bit me when I was young.

Edit to add:
Never mind, I must be an old-timer because AARP just sent me a join-up request. And here I thought the R stood for "retired" whereas I am still building my career.

Habby birfday Tenbender...

What a bunch of old fa%@s! I'm still going on 25! (for the 44th time!). I like to think of aging as a fine wine ages, it either becomes a smooth, mellow, complex vintage or turns into vinegar. Where do youz guys fall?

Or maybe English Leather !
My favorite was the English Leather Lime....I thought citrus might attract girls.....it doesn't !

My Grandfather always wore Brut and it seemed a popular men's scent at church. I've always associated the smell with...umm...experienced people.

Piping Rock, now there's a scent women really liked, at least they did in 1965.

Come on back & tell us about your casting experiences. What bullets are you casting.
Don't take our ribbing personal we're just reminising (SP) about what used to be & don't mean anything mean by it.
So let us know what your are casting & how they shoot.
Casting is pretty fun isn't it?

Frank I'm casting 309's for a 30 30. 285's for my 7X30 Waters. 358's for my 2" mod. 60. 454's for my Rossi 92 45 Colt. Also 401's for my Glock. Powder coating for the 285's, 401's and 454's. Might PC for the 30 30 when the lubed boolits run out.
I'm still on the fence with the Waters. The PC boolits don't group like the lubed ones. The 45 Colt 255 gr. boolits group the PC well but the 200 gr'ers group lubed boolits better. Just like rabbit hunting. Keep on chasing . lol

Tenbender, wow you've been busy good to hear from you.
I've never tried the powder coating, I've tried the Lee tumble lube (just this year), & had pretty good luck with that method.
I've been a lubrisizer fellow all these years. I've found .454 works best in the .45 Colt too. I've thought of casting for the .30-30 for some easy shooting loads that were not as expensive as jacketed bullets. Are you using gas checks in your .30-30?
Thanks.

Frank, I have the 2 Lee molds. The 309150 that throws a 140 gr'er and the 309170 that throws a 173 . They are both GC. I have been tumble lubing the 140's and using 2500 on the 173's.
When I decided to cast I went whole hog. I bought really too much I guess. Everything I read about it seemed I wanted. Hind sight being 20 20 I could of bought enough bullets to do me a lifetime and spent my extra time fishing ! lol
