I partially disassembled my Lee 20# pot to clean it out and lap the valve to decrease the drip, and when I put it back together I find a washer that I can't place. I took it apart a few weeks ago, and I had to loosen the legs for some reason I can't remember at the moment. This was in the process of removing the handle fo remove lead from near the spout. I hope the washer does not seat as part of the valve, i.e. should have been there for the lapping. Any ideas, it is a little over 1/4 inch diameter? All I messed with are the valve/handle assembly and the screws in the base.

Probably the washer that goes on the shoulder bolt for the valve rod assembly.

Probably the washer that goes on the shoulder bolt for the valve rod assembly.

So, if I understand correctly, it goes on the bolt that controls the maximum upward travel of the handle? I just removed that bolt, and it will only slip on over the treaded part of that bolt, but when the bolt is installed through it, it is held tightly in place on the rim of the pot. Is it now put back where it goes?

I think so.

Look at the picture in this link.

It was there when I replied. Maybe posting a link to midway is a no-no? Either way you should be able to look up a picture of the 20 lb pot and see the washer underneath the shoulder bolt.

OK, I see the washer right where I put it, thanks.

THANK YOU. I was wondering the same thing, took mine apart last month and was left with the washer.

The shoulder bolt comes loose in use... maybe the washer helps keep it tightened...?
