OK just got a ruger super blackhawk in .44 mag. I slugged the throats at .4315 and the barrel at .429. What size cast bullets would be best? Thanks.

Amazingly close to what mine measures!!!! I use a .431 marked sizer.. which as a matter of fact does indeed size boolits to .431... Just lucky maybe!! Mine shoots better than these crappy old eyes can see. MV

You should get good results with either .431 or .432, try one and if
you aren't satisfied, go to the other. My bet is .432 will work just
a tad better, but YMMV as is always the case with guns and ammo.

I can't tell a lot of difference between .430 plus and .432 minus....the diameters from my two STAR dies are actually closer to .001 apart. The .432 doesn't distrort a softer cast boolit as much....I accidentally cast a big bunch of 44 wadcutters in alloy of about 9 or 10 Brinnel Hardness, per my CABINE TREE and SAECO testers, rather than the usual 12. Accuracy was good, with a bit more leading that was easily removed with a few brush strokes and then the lead cloth patch to finish up.
The .430 will slide through the throats on about a dozen different VAQUEROS and BLACKHAWKS; the .432 will not. They chamber easily in either diameter. The conventional wisdom would favor the .432.
Check out the thread on the REDHAWK with .433 throats.
