I just aquired a 10 lb. of pure antimony. It looks like mica. Now....what do I do with it?. I know really...but how do I go about it?

Very carefully! Sb melts at over 1600F. It is tricky to alloy into lead. I have over 30# of it from old ORP analyzers and will never attempt using it due to the hassle of getting it to alloy.
good luck

actually antimony will mix in at 600-625-f.
you just need the right flux and lots of patience.
I have used marvelux to get small amounts mixed into an alloy.

I did a search and came up with a lot of helpful info.(God Bless this Forum) Seems it's quite easy to do introduce antimony into the melt, especially small batches. Will there be enough tin in a batch of 3lbs of cowws to 1/4lb of antimony to cast with or will I have to add tin? I'll pour this into 1/2lb ingots and should end up with a bhn of around 18.4 ish.

There's about .25% tin in COWW's. Solder or pewter will provide the tin you need to enrich your alloy.

How or where did you score the antimony?

How or where did you score the antimony?
LGS that opened up a couple yrs. ago. Have bought a few guns there and have become good friends. He used to do a lot of Cowboy shooting and he has tons of casting stuff in his garage. He gave it to me. I'm guessing there is close to 20 lbs. in the bucket.
