I was getting to loading some 44mag revolver boolits with the 310gr rnfp lee and the cast bullet handbook says oal is 1710 when i do that there is a groove band still showing on the lead i would go shallower but wont that raise pressure,anyone load these

Perfectly normal.
That is a DCG design, dual crimp groove. Seating in the upper one will raise pressures DRASTICALLY if your load data specifies COA with the boolit seated to the bottom crimp groove.
The upper groove was made for revolvers with short cylinders like the S&W and also for use in leverguns where the longer COA might not cycle through the magazine.
A LOT of us use that same boolit in .44 caliber, it's a quite popular boolit here.
