Should be picking it up this week sometime. Looking for mold recommendations. I cast for 9 mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP with Ballistic Cast molds and 30 Carbine with an NOE mold, so I guess I'm leaning towards either of them.

That should cover the heavies, maybe a 190-200 gr for lighter stuff.

If you are looking for a lighter boolit I have a new MP 411640 2 cavity with all pins that I would be willing to sell.

I don't have any moulds from those suppliers. My most accurate boolit is a 210 rcbs swc. My MP 412640 is a close second and is very versatile with all the pins. Solids are 230 grn with coww.

The heavier bullet HP'd with GC is excellent for top end hunting loads. However, if you want magnum level loads w/o the GC I use the RCBS 41-210-SWC with great success. For low level plinking and mid level loads I use the Lee TL410-210-SWC. I also have the older TL410-175-SWC which is an excellent plinker also. I have used the 410-195-SWC with good results but prefer the TL 210 SWC over it.

I'm using Lyman 410610 SWC GC and 410259 SWC.

Lucked into a 6 cavity version of the Lee TL410-210-SWC, thanks to a kind soul on this forum. Love it and it spits out enough to keep me supplied handsomely. Worth keeping an eye out for.

Anything but the 41027.

I'm mildly surprised the 41032 hasn't been mentioned. Everyone I've loaned mine to has loved it. I've punched a couple deer clean through with it. That being said, my hunting boolit is the 410459. NOE is making a copy. If I didn't already have a lyman I would go that route.

I've actively avoided the gas check designs due to frugality and lack of need. YMMV.

Good Cheer, care to elaborate?

I like the Accurate 411-235E. It makes a nice all around bullet.

Yeah, OK.
It's just a booger to get useful boolits from.
Been tempted to get an alternative plug that would be an awesome hollow point instead of the hemispherical hollow base. Then again, as long as that thing is, maybe a different plug design could make it a pretty cool small bore minie... been threatening to maybe have a .42 muzzleloader.
So many fun ideas and so little time!

I had the TL410-175-SWC in an old single cavity mold and my short nosed 41 BH loved it!
To date, the only TL mold, in a revolver, I was able to use and not lead my barrel.
The 210 grainer did good with target loads, for me.

the problem for me about the 410459 and their clones is the tiny .25 meplat--having said that it is one of the most accurate designs i have used and I killed my first deer with it -- Ebay can some times have something-- lots of lee molds on there and Noe, Accurate Molds Mountain Molds -- Mihia ///these should have something that will tickle your fancy-- the molds with various hp pins are really great as you may be able to get 4 different boolit from that one boolit mold

GLynn41, why the problem with the narrower meplat?

I like the RCBS 210gr, if you want more than a 2cav, the NOE or Accurate SWC designs of 210gr-220gr.

it affects hole in the deer-- personally i like .29 or bigger-- I have a Saeco 230 an it is .275-- i still shoot Keiths often----Just me-- my 255 gr has a .33 meplat

I like my Saeco #417 and I also use the Lee TL410-210-SWC , Mostly Powder Coat on the Lee for 41spl and lite 41mag. Gp

Be aware that there are a couple of different size gas checks for the 41.
I have the Saeco 415 220gr TC GC and it is a very accurate long range boolit. With the TC nose would not be the best for hunting.
I have the Lee SWC and it is ok but the RCBS SWC plain base is a great boolit. Very accurate and no issues with leading, even at over 1,500 fps. No GC makes for cheaper shooting. The RCBS mold casts very good boolit easily and even though it is a 2 cavity the pile grows pretty fast.
Alliant MP300 is a great powder for the 41 but reloading data is scarce so if you find some call Alliant and they have some data worked up by Brian Pearce.
