How does it compare to Lyman or NOE?

I do not Like Lee Molds, each cavity seems to drop at a different weight. If you are just plinking may be ok but if you are shooting competitively or accurate shooting I would not recommend them.

I used to have three molds for 311041, A two cavity Lyman, A 6 cavity Lee and a 5 cavity NOE. I sold the Lee, I may still have the Lyman not sure at the moment. But the NOE is the best of the three.

For that kind of money I would not even consider a Lee, I would get a NOE or Accurate.

What Bzcraig said.
The Lee mold may be fine, but for the small difference in price, there is little reason NOT to get the higher quality molds from NOE or one of the other folks you see here.

I like mine, It is a lee and throws a plain base boolit. I need to play with it a lot more. They seem to want more for them now than when I got mine however.

At $40 a Lee six cavity is a good way to make a lot of bullets fast. At $84 it's a good incentive to spend the extra $15 for a NOE.

What he said, in SPADES!!!!! I have a number of Lee molds which make boolits of one sort or another and work OK, given what they cost. But the NOE--and for that matter just about any other--molds are much better. They give more good boolits per cast, are made of better materials and generally give better results for your time. That said, an NOE or other top dollar mold is not more than twice as good as a Lee mold, but it is certainly more than 20 dollars better

I have one of the GB 311041 Lee 6 cavity moulds. It casts very good and very uniform 170 gr bullets. The problem with it is I did not pay close attenton to the discussion on the GB thread for it. My mould is cut for COWWs/lead at 50/50. Thus it cast okay bullets of that alloy that are .311 - .312 on the bands and .300 on the nose. However, when I cast bullets with COWW + 2% tin or Lyman #2 alloy the drive bands ar .314 and the nose is .303. That is great for my .31 cal rifles and a couple .30s with worn throats. But for my M94s and Contender Carbine for which I wanted it those are too large in diameter unles I size the nose back to .300. Nice mould but not what I wanted it for. Should have got the NOE 311041.

Did anyone notice that this mold was not made by Lee? It uses a Lee 6 cavity blank. Remember Ranch Dog? The molds he sold were not Lee. They were Ranch Dog made on lee aluminum blanks.

Anyone used one of these?

waaaaaaaaay too much money for a Lee! Get a NOE or similar as said! You will like your boolits much better. Lee's are great for pistols......but skinny 30 cal's......not so much from what I have personally expereinced with the 3 I have.

Ranch Dog had his molds cut to his specs by Lee. Some were great, Lee sold the ones that were not on their surplus page.

They most certainly are Lee molds, I have one from this exact seller. Works great, casts perfect boolits. I also paid less for mine. He jacked the price up just after I bought one. At that time, NOE did not offer a 311041 mold. Like any Lee, just treat it nice and it will drop a pile of boolits in short order. I also purchased a 6 cavity C312-155-2R before Lee made it a catalog item. Works great as well.

Can't go wrong with NOE for the slight difference in cost. OTOH I have several RD/Lee moulds and all are quite good. If this is a second I'd pass, I think Michael held them to a pretty close tolerance for good reason.
