WARNING!

I'm looking for info on the BFR in 30-30 from people who own one (most preferred) or from those who have shot one.

I'm NOT interested in your opinion if you have no actual experience with this particular revolver in this particular caliber. I've read numerous posts about the BFR's in large bore calibers and they sound great but I'm only interested in the 30-30 version. If you've got info on this specific combo, PLEASE SHARE! I know this is an odd ball combo but so am I. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Well... was it hard to get the 30-30 to shoot well? I read years ago that the Contenders in 30-30 were very inefficient in powder use because the loads were using rifle powders. Is yours accurate? Do you get big fire balls when shooting? Have you killed any game with it? What are your general, over all opinions? I would want to use it for hunting.

Shoots great the gun will outshoot me.
velocities over 2000 FPS
low recoil
Shoots cast and jacketed equally as well.
For heavier bullets Leverrevelution is one of the best powders for max velocity.

That is true. I had the tender, 10" and found the powder problems. Until I went to 4759. Then LOOK OUT. I used the RCBS 308-165-sil boolit but forget the load.
Anyway with a scope from the bench, this is what it would do.148447 That is 100 yards guys. I have a pile of pennies in a drawer from the gun. I put the money on a log and the boolits went through a 13" log like butter. I thought I could split the log and save some lead--NOT!
The biggest loss we have is the powder but I did stock up.
This is the second time the powder has gone out of production, IMR stopped it once too. Long ago it came in 8oz bottles.

I have not shot at 100 yet but still have some this powder loaded some 170 FP CG boolit it was very accurate at 50 under 2 with a green dot scope that is 3 MOA dot that was decent. Gotta hoard that stuff for my hunting load ........:-D

Own one, shoot it often, recoil is next to nothing, great gun. Use 150 grain Nosler bullets, with 34 grains of HVarget.
