iv been messin with this for 2 days. i using lunch meat containers to shake em in,with and without airsoft bb's.powder wont stick to the bullets.
iv noticed that the cool whip container seems to be popular to shake in,is there something about the plastic its made of that makes it a better choice?

I understand containers with a "5" in the recycle symbol work best. I spray mine though.

Any plastic that has the number "5" in a triangle on the bottom of it is a candidate for tumbling. Round ones seem to work better than ones with sharp corners.
If you have a No. 5 container and some airsoft BB's in it, and you shake the heck out of it, it should stick. But matte colors don't stick well and matte black doesn't stick at all. For me, the blue colors seem to be the easiest to get to tumble, with the reds being a close second.

I have tumbled with some success, but I also prefer spraying. Tumbling does work and sometimes works very well. Spraying is 100% perfect and works/looks great every time. But it involves a bit more setup and equipment to do and some feel that it isn't worth it.

Good luck!!!

The "#5" tubs reportedly produce more static electricity and enable the powder to stick to the bllets better. Go here for a wealth of PCing info...http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?184-Coatings-and-Alternatives

#5 in Coolwhip (love the stuff) and ZipLok screw-on's work every time for me. I tried many many others with zero to very minimal success. Been doing this for over 2 years.

Stick with what other's have found work to eliminate at lease ONE of the over 2 dozen variables involved with BBDT'ing!

Read the recycle symbol on the bottom. And stick to round #5 containers. Others will chime in with "this and that worked for me". Good for them. #5 works for just about EVERYBODY.

Have fun.

Might try giving your boolits a light preheat with the coating oven or a heat gun. Lead conducts heat really quick so the added step is brief. I get mine hot enough you almost don't want to hold them to drive of surface moisture and let cool till they are just warm and then tumble. I use a square polyethylene jug which seems to work just fine.
