Has anyone experienced the LEE .456-220-HP boolit for the Ruger Old Army?
I just found one of this mold at LGS, never even heard of it, and it followed me home.
I never heard of a HP for the Ruger, but I got one.
How does it shoot?

Beats me, Man. In over ten years I've never seen a HP listed by Lee in their cap and ball molds section; just the one in 36 caliber and the two in 44, all round nose and all two cavity molds.

If I had to guess, I'd say you have a custom mold, that is, unless it's a mold intended for metal cartridges and not cap and ball.

Is it a heeled or a tapered bullet? It will be one or the other if it was intended for cap and ball revolvers.

A few photos could go a long way here.

"456-220-HP" sounds like a Lee mold number though. So maybe I'm just dumb and didn't know they ever made such an item. It is single cavity then?

They used to make hollow point moulds a long time ago. Probably 20+ years ago but that is just a guess. I wish they would make them again. I have a couple, unfortunately someone milled the point off one so it is no longer a hollow point. I was trying to figure out how to return it to HP again.
