I just picked up a Marlin GBL in a favorable trade and am going to be in need of a good mold. The one I currently have wont work well for the Marlin (Lee .457-500F), as the finished round is too long. So- how about some recommendations? Gas check preferred, good weight (using 50/50 ww and pure), and relatively cheap. I'm on a pretty tight budget, so I won't be able to buy anything right away. I can sure do my homework though!

I can say check out NOE 460-350-RF 4cavity 2 G.C.-2 P.B. ,my Marlin 95 shoots these great to 200 yds sized .459 .I use the PB 1100-1400fps and the GC to 1900FPS super accurate and a hoot to shoot !

NOE 460-350 for me shoots well. Not cheap tho! Well worth the money.

Have fun, on top of making world-class moulds he has a very tempting and informative website.

NOE 460-350-RF
Accurate 460400L

My favorite 350gr and 400gr molds for the Marlin 1895 GS I have.

I always liked the Lee 405, but it's plain based. It fit, fed and shot just fine through my Marlin.

I looked at the Lee molds quite extensively, and it seems that they tend to drop a bit small for my needs. After slugging the barrel on the Marlin, it needs a .460 minimum...maybe even a .461 sized boolit.

I've been eyeballing the NOE 460-405, along with a couple Accurate molds. I particularly like the price point on the NOE mold. For the NOE users, what diamter are your boolits dropping at typically, and with what alloy?

I use the RCBS 45-405-GC. Drops at .460" and 420grs, and feeds great in my SBL. I also use the Lyman 457122HP that drops at .461" and 335grs, but that one isn't GCd like you asked for.
