I agree. I checked the price at Lowe's recently and was shocked!

Any free score is good but thats a Great score. You got enough solder to sweeten a lot of lead. Congrats!

been lucky enough to work in an industry that utilizes solder for alot of projects. when they throw it away they contact me for the hazardous disposal.. if i had to guess i would say i have easily 200+ pounds of solder in my hoard.. about 1/3 of that is the lead free 97% tin type.

Right place at the right time? I guess you must mean where the casting cornucopia gets dumped!
Nice score to put it mildly. Bet you could so unload that solder AS solder for more than it is worth as boolit casting material. Not to say that being cast as a boolit is not a high calling for tin to aspire to.

BIGRED, the majority of the rolls of solder are running @ $20 or more per roll. You may want to try to sell to buy more lead.
Also, check the mix. You will find they are not 100% lead.

I know solder real well.. Been using it for 25+ years. This is a mix of 60/40 and 63/37. Solder is more valuable as Tin not lead.. I have a very nice Hoard of lead free solder as well 97% Tin.
