I was given a pretty good size roll of solder wire by a coworker. The problem is that he's unsure if it was 95/5 or 50/50 or whathaveyou, and there's no label on it anymore. Is there any easy way to tell if this stuff has zinc in it?

as far as I know you don't have to worry about zinc in solder.
They never have put Zinc in solder.
But if the stiff is shiny silvery, then it would be Lead free Solder.
If it is a Gray color, then it is Lead bases solder and probably 50/50
