Lee Primer feed issues

Don't know what is wrong with it but the ancient primer feed on my 30 year old Lee Pro 1000 started feeding a primer every time even is there was no case. Figured I'd finally replace the case sensor and spring but those still should not effect the press feeding a primer when there is no case.Checked cleaned it all and it seems to be working properly. What can cause this frustrating issue?
