Who cast's for the 41 mag?

I'm looking for a good bullet with in 41 mag.

Will use for mostly plinking and also deer hunting.

For deer hunting it will be a short range proposition. Meaning if the deer is under my tree stand and it'd be easier to shoot with a handgun than a rifle.

Plain base is preferred.

What is out there?

Lyman 410459 is a good one. Pretty much Keith style except for the round bottomed lube groove. Casts about 217 with WW.

RCBS 41-210 is a semiwadcutter that seems to shoot about as well as 410459. The front driving band is a little smaller than the one on 410459, and may fit new RBHs better.

Lyman 41028 is a round flatnose. Both the Lymans will have to be found on the used market.

There are others, but those are the ones I have used.

There have been several 41 group buy molds, the one I got in on is a 220 K. There's also a heavier Keith like maybe 265 gr but it'll be several months before it gets here.

I have a brand new 410032 AW Lyman mould that I need to break in, it casts a 213gr. Keith type SWC. If you would like me to cast a few for you to try PM me.

Fourarmed covered things well--I killed my first deer with a handgun with the Lyman 410459 there are also Lee molds that can found used---Mountain Mold will let you design one- then of course there is LBT and NEI

Back in the dark ages when I was shooting a DW 741 for IHMSA sillywets, I had an NEI mould that dropped a 238 gr TC (GC) using #2 alloy. Boolit was super-accurate in my gun but I dunno if NEI still catalogues the design.

I really like that RCBS 41-210. Good quality mould. Cast easily. Very accurate out of my 8 3/8 M57

I like the Ballisti-Cast 856 and 858 bullets. These were originally H&G the 256 and 258 designs. The 258 is a square groove Keith design.

Have taken deer at 124 yards with a 6" M57 Smith with these bullets.

I've been shooting the RCBS 210gr without a problem. I will soon me getting a SAECO, very similar bullet design just in a 4 cavity.

I shoot a 220 WFN LBT from Veral. PB, drops 222 from WW, shoots well from 1050 fps on up.

Just bought a 4 cavity of this. Its a 190 gr truncated cone. So far all I can say if the mould is top quality and casts pretty well. Was throwing superb bullets after 3 or 4 fills.

I'll keep ya posted on how it does.

410459 Lyman or 417 Saeco. They're both Keith style SWCs and are very accurate. The illustration in the Saeco mould chart on their web site does not accurately reflect the shape of the bullet that comes out of my mould. The ogive is much longer than what's shown in the drawing. The Saeco has a flat-bottom grease groove.

I have the 41-210 rcbs and like it alot. I also have a LBT 230gr LFN with gc that shoots great. Might look at Mountain Molds if you want something a little heavier. Cost isn't that much more for a two banger than you would pay for a group buy mold. (Look on it as an investment) You will pay for a mould in about 400 bullets.

410459 and better yet the ballistic cast copy (if for no other reason then its a ballistcast mold) are probably the most accurate mid weight 41 bullet you are going to find.
