No but I have a box of Remington 30/06 loaded with 55gr 22cal bullets in sabots similar to those. I think it's call Accelerator. It's an insane velocity but would have to look

Data shows up to 4450fps on this list I got with them.

I have seen Tokarev loads that use those and a very light .22 at absurd velocity. An internets load, so I don't think I'll ever try it.

I have some, just haven't gotten around to doing any load development for them yet. Got'em from Eabco couple years ago.

30cal 110gr varmint grenades do what I need them to do, at a mere 3500fps out the odd six

I still have about 125 of them. Mine are gray and I got them in '87 or so and loaded up some for my 30-30 Handi Rifle. Poor accuracy, like the best I could do was around 4"-6" at 50 yards . I used the load data supplied with the sabots and don't remember load data offhand. I bought a .223 barrel for my Handi and got 1/2" groups @ 50...

I've used them in 30-06 and 308, as mdi stated: very poor accuracy.

Here's some I made up as an experiment, using a .22 Blazer case and a .17 bullet and another using a standard LR case with a 14 grain pill. Both about 16-1,800 fps but poor accuracy. Would be nice to have the resources to try and develop these.

My results were nearly identical. Accuracy was terrible. I shot 55gr FMJ's in a Marlin 30/30 using IMR 3031. I wouldn't even want to guess as to the weight of the powder charge.

Friend's 30/30 shooting factory Remington Accelerator 30/30 had considerably better results but still in the mediocre range. I wasn't with him but friend claimed he rolled two coyotes at a dump sight with the 30/30 Accelerator.

In 7.62 x 25 in my CZ52 I got more than 2000 fps with 45 grain bullet, I don't know if that is absurd velocity or not. It is more than I get with a 37 grain bullet in .22 mag pistol. I have a bunch of those sabots but mine are grey.

I haven't personally, but I have a buddy that killed his chrony when a sabot went into the LCD readout on the front of the unit.

Right off Eabco's page:

Our sabots allow .30 caliber firearms to shoot .224 caliber bullets at substantially increased velocities. The sabot nylon resin material is extremely heat resistant and offers less wear on the barrel. The barrel does not experience a build up of copper or lead residues and any sabot material is easily cleaned. Upon exiting the barrel, the sabot flowers away allowing the .224 rifle bullet to fly normally.
Big Accuracy Requirement - Before firing sabots in any gun, clean the copper and lead fouling out of that barrel. If you don't accuracy will suffer.
Big Safety Requirement - Never fire sabots in barrels that have muzzle brakes. Premature flowering in the brake could act as a barrel obstruction.
Use 50-60 Grain Bullets - The rifling twist rate on most .30 calibers is 1:12 or 1:10. For .224 caliber bullets, this twist rate is best suited to bullets in the 50-60 gr. weight range.

I am curious about trying a thin GC on the sabot from an accuracy standpoint.

I've still got some left over from years ago, same as others just plain poor accuracy.

Remington offered these in factory loads in the .30/30, .308, and .30/06, accuracy was poor when compared to the hot .22 center fires that they tried to duplicate.

I've often wondered if Remington discontinued the Accelerators due to poor sales or if they buckled under to ATF. ATF got their panties in a bunch claiming the Accelerators would leave untraceable bullets.

I think stated velocity was even higher, like 2500 or so, but I can't get the internet wayback machine to bring up that page anymore, maybe Mr. Peabody can fix it.

I have shot the Remington Accelerator in 30-06 with good accuracy and the chronograph showed well over 4000 fps.

I tried to duplicate this with the gray sabots, really poor accuracy and could not get any where close to 4000 fps.
