Loading a 45-70 with an NOE 350 gr. GC FP. Loaded to the crimp groove my oal is 2.498. If I load to 2.55, I am in the middle of upper band. They cycle fine through my Marlin GG. Problem? I am NOT anywhere near max. loads. Thanks, Stu

What's the problem? You answered the own question you are no where near max. Work up the load. If you feel safe going up watching the pressure signs. What load range data are you in 21000 cup, 28000 cup, 35000 cup or higher data? Hornady goes up to 40000.

Looking for 1500 -1800 fps. Upper trap door loads. Under 30,000 cup.

Trapdoor loads are WAY UNDER 30000CUP. Anyway at that level you are still way within Marlin safety loads. Do you have a reloading book? Speers data with a 325 is at a shorter OAL than your 350.
So the gist of the subject is this. At your level of chamber pressure do worry about the OAL.
Not till you are approaching 40000 CUP.
