Anyone here with a .475L or 480 Ruger, casting with the Lee 400g, .475 mold? If so, in what, and how do you like it?
I'm on the list to order the new Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in .480 Ruger.

Thanks
Mike

It's a very accurate design. It has a tiny crimp groove, and not a ton of lube capacity, so I could never get full speeds out of it in my Linebaugh. 1-1/2" or less at 50 yds. with iron sights was pretty common when I was practiced up. I got the same size groups all the way down to 550 fps., so it is a very stable design. I did have to buy 3 molds to get one that cast round enough to make me happy, but this was some time ago, and they seem to have improved quality lately.

I have one for my freedom arms 475 and it is ok. The nose is a little long for the freedom arms, so I bought one from mountain molds and it's way nicer.

It should fit in the New Ruger .480. It has the same length cylinder as the .454. I plan on running them from 900-1200 fps. I was also thinking of powder coating them. Has anyone tried them coated?

I shoot them in my Tarus Raging Bull with great results.I lube with Ben's Red lube.
