Just started loading for 300blk with cast. I've got some sized to .311 after powder coating. And I have just the normal expander in my RCBS SB dies.

The 30 cal M-Die I have for 30/30 is just too short. So I was reading and several people had milled the body down. Not a possibility for me. I found someone that said that he had used a couple of washers from rivets and that worked. Well no rivets handy. So looking around I found a pack of assorted O rings. Found a nice small fat one that worked just fine. I still have to pretty much bottom out the adjuster nut, but it does work now.

Would be nice if Lyman updated it to work in the 300blk. Wouldn't have to change that much. Just add a little more length to the adjuster or move the flare point down a bit on the end. Either would work. I'm pretty sure that die body is pretty much universal.

That's great it worked. What about the 30 carbine M-die does anyone know if it will work?

30-30 is in the long body die isn't it? You need to get a short M body die. If I can use it in my 38Special and 45ACP you can use it in your 300Blackout. All of the inserts fit all of the body dies. Thus you need one long body and one short body and just buy the inserts you need.

Do you have any rcbs pistol dies I believe the m die assembly will screw into the die bodies of the rcbs dies.

I use the 50r plug in the shorter M-2 body instead of the 50p for the linebaugh.

Take care

Thanks guys. I may call Lyman or buy a 38/357 as I could put that to good use anyway.

The thirty short M-die is just right for 30 carbine if you adjust down to the shell holder and remove the tightening nut. Just screw the shaft all the way in and your there. Gp
