Hello Folks,

I'm having a custom revolver built on a Model 29. Although I think I have it figured out, I'd like to hear what you would do. Rather than discuss my choices, what would you do if you were going to build a S&W Model 29 (or Model 629) as a custom hunting gun?

Thanks, Tom

My preference is a factory mainspring and a reduced power trigger return. Just enough to return the trigger promptly and depends on how broken in the lockwork is. The front sight is a Cylinder and Slide Improved Ramp with fiber optic. Rear sight is a Bowen Custom Rough Country with the height matched so 25 yards is a couple clicks up and windage is locked. 30mm UltraDot 4 moa was on it for a while. I don't shoot jackets so the .429"- throats were reamed to .4313" and I shoot .431 bullets in the 260g range.

And I bought all the tools so I can build another when I wear this one out.

I would just buy a S&W Stealth Hunter and put the optic of my choice on it and call it a day
