Don't know if this is considered "Bumping up", but here's what I'd like to do. I am currently making 30cal projectiles from 5.7X28 cases and am very pleased with the results. I'd like to make .311" projectiles. If I place a 30cal projectile in a .311" swaging die, will it form a satisfactory bullet?

If the projectile is .308 or even .309---bumping up such a projectile actually works very well since you are only nudging it up .002 or .003---will just make the bullet slightly shorter. Have done this many times and worked very well for my needs. Don

Yes it works .I made a forming die for .312 dia spitzer shape. I put cheap( at least at the time) 7.62 nato pulled slugs in it and bumped them up to .312 for my 303's. The shape of the die did not closely match the nato slug but all worked well. I got cheap bullets for the Enfield that were at least average accurate. It would be easy to do this even bigger like to .314 for use in more generous sized rifles.
This was done on a rcbs rockchucker with only modest effort.
