Prescott Arizona Walmart has the Ruger American marked down from $388.00 to $184.00. They had 5, I bought 2. 243 Win only. Check your local Wally for similar. A buddy just bought a .308 in Texas for $188.00.

No dice here. Found out the two most rural stores no longer sell firearms. They also cut their ammo cabinet down to 1/10 of what they used to be. I will be emailing the store managers. The two urban stores that do sell them didn't have any Rugers of any kind :(

you could try ordering them as a drop shipment from the warehouse.

That would require someone that knows what they're doing. When I asked about the rifles I got a wide mouth stare because they weren't in the case. Trying to get a price for something not in stock is impossible: I definitely don't need another rifle. But at that price I would leave it at my cabin as a knock around gun.

I'd love one in 300 BLK. I'll have to look later this weekend.

Even mentioning the word GUNS has every employee in the sports area of my local store requesting a break because they had just soiled themselves.

One started to lecture me about their dangers when I asked for GUN oil.

wow. I would have went to the bank and took out a loan and bought every one they had. Could have turned a good profit on that deal!

Because of a goof up by a self centered `clerk` in the sports dept. at a Wally - World over a drop shipment of a syn stock Model 70 a few years back, the store manager ordered a replacement for me. I wound up with a walnut wood stock, boss barreled control feed Model 70 in .300 Win. Mag. because the syn stock model was a short ordered special run. When I asked what this replacement would cost me, I was told the same low price as the lesser syn stock model due to the problems the former employee caused.Robert

My son bought one last week, not at that price.308 Winchester..Out of the box..147 grain cheap ammo...4 round group..3" to right of bull..you could cover them with a nickle at 100 yards.Simmons scope (bore sighted at 50 yds) that he borrowed from me.I was pretty impressed to say the least. So far he has put 20 rounds through it.

Apparently, I missed some good deals here at walmart. Clerk said they had some guns marked down to $149 from over $400.
I did get a DPMS in 308 at a decent price. Went back for more and all of the deals were gone.

It does happen. I walked into our local store and there was a handwritten managers sign that said 20% off so I asked about one already on sale and the guy said that one too. I bought it plus the reloading dies and it was like the dies were free.

To all the folks getting these awesome deals:

Is your Wally World blowing these out to get rid of the guns from their store to not sell any more or are they restocking with new product?

I was told by a Walmart clerk that they get rid of guns in inventory after 3 years. They sell them off silently. So check prices often. Both the Ruger Americans in .243 Win I bought at $184.00 were made in 2012. Still new guns.

Yeah our local one had a DMPS 308 for $588 and one of the top model Mossberg 500's for $300 something. Also a Windham 5.56 milspec model for I think $650 or something like that. Some really good deals that I didn't have cash for. I did get a really nice gun case for $19 marked from $50 and a bunch of those polymer ground targets that you plink at for $5 each. Was a little upset I bought my bipod last week because it was marked down from $40 to $15.

Last time they had this clearance sale I got a whole case of Pyrodex RS for $5 a bottle and my cousin got a case of some foreign 9mm ammo for $5.99 a box.

Love the Walmart clearance sales... cheap stuff plus you can look forward to all new items in the department when they re-do it.

They always have redone the whole section with new stuff every time they have done it in the past. They seem to do this every 6 months now for the past two years to keep the section from going stagnant (which was the downfall of the gun section at Kmart, which had stuff in inventory a few decades old when they did their final clearance event 10 years ago).

Yes it pays to run through your local Walmart. I picked up a Brand NEW 1988 Savage Model 10 Sierra in 2012. For $299
I wonder how many warehouses that thing sat in before I happened across her.
She is a tack driver too.
Oh here I found a photo of it.

My Wallyworld doesn't carry centerfires, but shortly after the seasons close they blow out the muzzleloaders in stock. I picked up a CVA Wolf for under $80 last year. I wish they handled centerfires.

Does anybody know if there is an iron sight or fire sight that will fit on those centerfire American Rifles? If there is and I saw a deal even remotely close - hmmm.

I check a couple of Wally's each week. Never seen the firearms that low in price. I did happen on one a couple of weeks ago that had a case full of .22. $18 each 325 box limit 3.
