Hey Guys,

I just posted an article comparing Remington, Winchester and Starline .45-70 brass. I’ve discussed this before on this forum but combined the data, comments and photo into a short article. Those of you with Browning BPCRs in either .40-65 or .45-70 may be especially interested since I included recommendations based on matching brass and chamber dimensions.

Thank-you for doing this brass review and providing such comprehensive details. Sort of confirms what I suspected. Starline is very good brass from my limited use of various manufacture's brass.

When I bought my 45/70, the first thing I did was buy a 250 count of Starline brass. The 2 boxes of Remington ammo cost me $100 and I couldn't do that all the time. I haven't one bit of problem out of the Starline cases and like the article said, they took a lot less work to get ready to load. Kudo's Starline :)

Last week I purchased several hundred Starline in 45/70 primarily due to being a lot cheaper and readily available more so than other brands ...this was the first time I tried them and was measuring them in comparison to satisfy my curiosity and what I had also read about Starline - your effort Wayne came at the right time and even though my measurements were not as comprehensive as yours, the results equates to what I was seeing also. Thank you for taking the time to post them.

Texasmac, love your site great info. Tried to print this page on the 45-70 brass from Firefox, the chart and photo did not print. Is it my setup or does your site not sink with Firefox?

I believe it's due to Firefox's compatibility with Yahoo's SightBuilder software, which the website is running on. I normally use Chrome with no problems but just accessed the site using Firefox and ran into the same problem. You are welcome to send me an email (click on texasmac & select "Send Email") and I'll respond with the photo & chart.
