Previously I've bought powder by the pound. I'd buy 2-4 pounds and make sure they had the same lot number. With the powder shortage I decided to buy by the jug when afforded the opportunity. I now have several jugs of powder but just finished my very first one.

Reloder 15

i used it to make up an ammo can full of 308 plinker rounds. A good friend gave me quite a few 150gr FMJ BT military pull downs. With 46gr of RL 15, I'm able to hold 2-3 MOA at 100 yards, which I'm perfectly happy with. My 168 A-Max handloads yield sub MOA.

What at was the first JUG of powder you used up and on what?

IIRC my first 8 lb jug I used up was WC820 about 20 years ago in the .44 mag. Before that, I only had access to 1 lb cans of 2400 and H-110/296 for my hungry .44 mags!

#4 of H110 and it made me sad, the memories I have had with that jug, those days will never be repeated :)

oh my..
it had to be red-dot, or maybe herco.
we used them both for shot gun shooting since about forever ago.
the herco got relegated to handgun use when steel shot come on the scene and 800-x come into play, then steel.
I still think I like the 800-X 2-3/4' loads I developed waay back then about as well as any lead loads we ever shot.

1 pound can of Bullseye, used to load 38 specials in 1971. Still use the same load today, just buy 8 pounders when I can find them.

8lb container of Bullseye in the 80s. I try to buy all my powder in larger than 1 lb containers.

4# of ETR-7 (that went quick) and I'm a good chunk of the way through a jug of Universal Clays. If I ever get around the setting things up for some bulk 55gr bullets I have, I'll go through my 8# of AR-Comp pretty quickly.

8 pounder of Red Dot. Great fun shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays.

4 lb jug of Unique back in the early '70's! What I learned to reload shotgun shells with. 12's and 20's. (About a gazillion of them). Then 700X by the 12 pounders. Ahhh, the good old days!!!

8# jug of red dot. That's pretty much the only powder I used when I shot skeet, now 20 plus years later it's still one of my favorite powders for shotgun and pistol loads.

Just recently a 4-lb jub of 2400. Didn't even realize I was using so much of it.

8 pound container of Unique, bought in early 1970 , it was the only powder I had for a long time.
Used to reload:
12 ga. shotgun
32 acp
380 acp
9mm Luger
9mm Largo
38 S&W
38 Special
357 magnum
41 magnum
44 special
44 magnum
45 Colt
45 acp
7 X 57 Mauser
7.62 Argentine Mauser
30-30 win.
7.5 X 55 Swiss
303 British
30 -06 Springfield
Every one of the above were loaded with cast boolits and Unique. It isn't the best for light target loads in handguns but you can certainly use it to cover a lot of different applications.
In a rifle 10.0 grains and a cast boolit was always fun shooting.

8# jug of 2400, been through several. Now I have 8# jugs of everything but 2400. I use to think 2400 was the only powder made, so the shortages did have some good effects.

A 20lb. bag of H110 (the bag came in a box). I bought it in 1974. I shot a lot of 44 mag. back then. I still do just not as much.
