i have searched all over the form for this answer but i seem to have missed it. I just got one of those beretta 92 S surplus pistol from SOG guns, and i was shooting some of the LEE 125 358 with 45/45/10 over 4.0 grn of 700X. The barrel slugs to 3575 and i sized to 359. Alloy is range scrap with WW, my problem is that i was shooting and i kept having little rings of lead fly back and hit me and i kept having powder blow back all over the bolt face and on the upper ramp of the barrel, accuracy was fine, for off hand. Am i not crimping enough im just crimping to pass the "plunk" test.

Any one have any experience with this in a 92?

sorry this is so bad in grammer im trying to hurry we just had twins 6 weeks ago and they are both crying//... thanks

Bullet base is upsetting before it enters the throat and sharp edge of chamber entrance is shaving lead from bullet. Try quenching your bullets and sizing .357-.3575. Your 4 grs. of 700-x is too hot for a 158, Lyman lists 3.3 with 147-gr. #356637 at 1.058" OAL for 921 fps @ 32,200. I shoot 3.2 of Bullseye.

With 125 start at 3.5 and use lightest charge which cycles reliably.

I have Beretta 92 barrels in my Taurus that measures the same as yours. I had an issue with boolits sized at .359 similar to yours but not as pronounced.
I size to .358 and have no issues now.
Like outpost75 said, try quenching your boolits. I do and it makes all the difference in my pistols.

I've shot a Beretta 92 for years and agree with Outpost and Tazman, I would size to .358" and drop your powder charge a bit.
