Do you have a favorite brand of .45 auto brass? and why?

S&B.

WWB snobs and nearly everybody else claims that it's junk and pitches it. The primer pockets are tighter than most other brands, so they never seem to loosen up with repeated reloadings and firings. I don't believe that I've worn out an S&B case yet - I usually lose 'em before that.

Two of the largest ammo retailers around here sell a bunch of it, so I seem to find a lot that's been rejected by the brass experts.

good, I found some of them and wondered about thier reloadability. didn't know if they were worth picking up as they have red colored primers(military?) Internaly are they any diferent(thicker web or reduced volume)

I don't know - I've never worried about that. I just reload 'em and shoot 'em.

How about least favorite?, thats easier. Anything with A-Merc headstamp gets pitched as far as I can. Guaranteed jam in my 1911. Everything else seems OK. I prefer Fed, but most seems equal. Remington seems to have less neck tension than many other brands, and gets culled much more often.

Ditto. And I actively seek out the loaded stuff as well. Of all the 'discount' ammo, S&B seems to be made with the most quality, and it chronos out faster than everybody else's.

Federal nickel plated, they are easier to find for old eyes.

1 S&B (I have a bunch of it)
2 Federal
3 Winchester

All three require the most effort to size. (thicker brass)

Military surplus from the '70s when I'm probably not getting it back!

Nickle plated commercial so my 59 year old eyes can see it in the grass!

It's all good

70s-vintage WCC milsurp. I bought around four thousand rounds of the stuff back in the mid-80s and would guess that I've still got 90%+.

I haven't fired any 45 AMERC as I don't own one anymore but the M-1 carbine brass of theirs all split on the first reload or if it didn't, I pitched it anyway. Too brittle I guess. I hear it was made in Florida or thereabouts.

I'm going to agree with Steve,Lloyd, & EMC45, free range brass is what I like. My auto donates 1/3 of all I shoot to the range so I'm not bashfull about scrounging from the range. It's 50 - 75% loss in the hills. Frank

My favorite-by-default is W-W, because that is the brand we fired at my agency range, and deputies were welcome to scrounge as much as we wanted for reloading. Sort of a variant of Lloyd's preference, I'd say.

Dunno about 45 ACP, but in the WWB 7.62 x 25 ammo--WWB = S&B.
