This is in Bear Bullets shop here in Gardnerville , Nevada and it is the first time I have ever seen one up close ....
Remington 52 , picked it up and did the "hold" ... Wow ! .. with all the weight out front with that barrel , could not hold decently for more than thirty seconds .
Darn thing weighs 16 pounds ! ..
All barrel !
Are these the models that biathlon athletes use ? , this thing is heavy !

Looks like prone position or benchrest rifle to me
Biathlon rifles are a different breed

No, it's too heavy for the biatheletes and it doesn't have the straight back bolt throw. Someone probably used this rifle for NRA smallbore competitions; prone, three position and possibly four positions. The competitions are both with aperture sights and the use of a scope over distances from 50 feet up to 100 yards.

Thank you gentlemen for the info ... should have known better for it to be a "bench rest" model.
