New NOE mold on the way

Just ordered an Noe 460-350 4 cav. in brass. This will be my 1st brass mold. Any pointers to share? Problems? hints? I also ordered it with the digital probe. Looks like a great idea to know your mold temp.

Follow the instructions and heat cycle it in the oven 3 times. It should acquire a nice "patina". This helps to prevent tinning and sticking. Have fun.

Heat cycle with the mold blocks apart, the inside block faces stay much cleaner with a patina. Oxygen does the work, heat makes it faster.
