Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone else has this set-up(see picture) on their lyman mould master xx. I got the melter used and like this this set-up better than the new in the box melter I obtained. Thanks in advance!

The Lyman mouldmaster XX was one of the better pots made back in the day IIRC correctly by the same company that produced the Saeco models. Materials used were good and QC was good as well. As you can see, the controls were up-front and easy to use. Valves if kept clean didn't drip or wear out. If one did not smelt dirty lead and fluxed often, keeping the metal clean then things ran smoothly. An occasional wipe down when cold with an oily rag helped to stop rust and/or spraying some of the surfaces with Rustoleum Hi-heat BBQ stove black kept the unit looking good. LLS

I have one (two actually). Still going strong. Le Loup's post above is spot on.

Mine has the same set up and has been running great for over 35 years.

Here is the one I bought new old stock in the box. It has a totally different set-up. I like the first picture's set-up allot better.

My valve control mechanism is the same as the one in your first pic. Your second photo looks like a retrofitted RCBS mechanism minus the adjustment parts.

The second photo looks like a Saeco 24 or Lyman 61 (I have one), with the adjustment arm and screw missing.

I think your right. The RCBS parts are a little taller.

I order parts diectly from Lyman, that looks like like your first picture. I did a bunch of research and found the parts list online. Everything was pretty reasonable. If you want the mold rest they only have a few available.
