Intresting video. This guy's makes a knife start to finish by hand. Only power tool was a drill.

Ummm, I thought I saw a couple of electrically powered grinders in that video, too.

Down here is sugar cane country and always carried a cane knife in my little utility trailer pulled by a riding mower. Very thing spring steel so sharpening is fairly easy with an el cheapo stone. Will easily slice through a 1" sapling with one stroke. Most I've seen down here are from south america. I also some years back bought two chinese machetes for about $5 each. Very tough and hard steel and took a long time getting a good edge on them. They weigh about 4 or so pounds each so you can really do some damage to small trees, saplings and brush. Have a couple cutter blades off my old john deere tractor and one day will try my hand at knife making. Fairly thick steel and I normally used an angle grinder to sharpen them. Frank
