Berrys 230 + 5.7 gr of unique = an average speed. 180fps.
Cant understand it.
10 shots
chrony works great with my 9 mm. 1300fps
could a bullet come out that slow?
Chrony at 8 feet. Cloud screen on. Just plain confused

something isn't reading properly with your chrony...

Back up from your chrony and try again. I think you will find around 850 fps then.

For reference, 6.0 gr Unique with 230 Gold Dots gives 819 fps out of my 4.5 inch barrel. 850 fps would be about right for a 5 inch.

Always "check the chronys set up with a known load / firearm combination when set up and if you start getting these types of readings. I use an rws pellet gun ( side cocker) with dedicated lot number of pellets to check set up. Your chrony didnt get swithched into metric readings by accident did it?

If an auto, does the gun cycle? At 150 fps, you should be able to SEE the boolit.

Chrono isn't reading right or you have an issue with ignition (primer and/or primer). Sometimes a chrono graph doesn't read right on sunny days and if you are shooting too close. Shoot at least 8-10 feet behind the chronograph and confirm that the primers/powder are ok i.e. you have used them in other reloads with good results. By the way if you did have 150 fps the brass wouldn't likely cycle and eject.

I highly doubt the gun would run at that speed.

Something's wrong with your chronograph. Even if it were set to metric units, 180 meters/second is only 590 fps.

Did you try backing up from your chrongraph? I have a short 50-70 pistol that won't read at all, or give screwy readings until I m about 20 feet out. There is no way 5.7 grains of Unique and a 230 is making 150 fps.

Okay. Ill try that
