I've followed with great interest some recent threads on loading h-110 and how it is ment to be a full bore no down loading type powder. I'm loading for a 1894 win in 44 mag. My new favorite mold for all things .44 is the Lee 430 310. When I pc and gas them they tip the scales at just under 315 grains, the Lyman cast bullets handbook lists 17.5 gr as the start load, since these are heavier I loaded some and try ed them with 17gr. Shot better than any other loading in this rifle does anyone think that that load is to low, or high for that matter, brass and primers look fine and extraction is smooth. I want to double and triple check this loading so in three range trips it's been a winner, next trip I will chrono them. I've read here about what light loads of h110 can do.

Follow your manuals. Don't down load H-110.

With the weight of your Lee 310, 17g of H-110 should be fine. Be sure to use a mag primer for surer ignition.
