The Gas spring/piston on my Umarex Octane finally gave up the ghost. I'm thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket gas spring of a slightly higher rating.

The problem is, I haven't been able to find the techincal specs of this particular "ReAxis" Gas Spring so as to have something to compare to. I was hoping that one of you fellow air gunners had run across this information at some time during your recent air gunning lives.

The folks at Umarex appear to be as clueless as I am about this information so they have been of very little help. I don't know if this is deliberate or if they truely don't have that information. At any rate, I'm hoping one of you can help me out; or at least steer me in the right direction.

I have the outside dimensions and all. I just need the force ratings and such.

Thanks in advance.

Check out Gateway to Airguns on the web. There is info on there as to what you need. Sorry, I don't remember which place they put it in is though.

That was the first place I looked. I wasn't able to track down any specific info. I did learn that there is a mathematical formula to determine this information but I have yet to track that down either.

That's the big problem with GTA, they have so many gates as they call them, and no one knows where to put threads and every morning threads are moved hither & yon, and who knows where. I complained and got banned, as if that is a big loss to me! LOL
